St. Matthew in Autumn

Quarter: Dejvice Theme: Architecture

The church of St. Matthew (Sv. Matej) is located in a hill dividing two Prague quarters Dejvice and Sarka. Early medieval little church was rebuilt 1771 in Baroque style, probably after design by I. J. Palliardi, who is entombed with his family in the adjacent cemetery.

The church of St. Matthew has been a traditional target of popular Prague pilgrimages (Matejska pout) for more than 100 years.
